Abhijit Chattopadhyay, a Corporate professional for over 33 years, has pursued photography since age 11. Specialising in nature, wildlife and portraits, he uses his work to raise environmental awareness. Balancing career and passion, his memorable experiences and exhibitions reflect a lifelong commitment to capturing stories and inspiring others. It had been a long journey for Abhijit having started with a SLR (film camera) to a professional mirrorless camera and lenses. Today he captures whatever he finds beautiful in nature, be it wildlife, landscapes, or portraits. Abhijit is deeply committed to using my photography to address environmental and conservation challenges and raise awareness about the beauty of nature. Through his work, he aims to freeze moments in time — whether of a human or a grasshopper — and tell their stories. Pursuing his passion while maintaining a career in corporate life presented challenges, but he has found ways to balance the two. The only key factor that have made this possible is his passion! The greatest challenge that the world faces today is environmental degradation primarily caused by human activity. Observing the environmental changes happening in and around Navi Mumbai motivates him to showcase nature’s beauty (in India and abroad): the colours, habitats, and behaviours of creatures, great and small. Through his work, he aims to help others recognize the value of nature and understand how it protects us. Every comment or interaction from fellow nature lovers boosts his motivation. Moreover, he gets inspired by sharing his photography knowledge and experience with others. So far, Abhijit has achieved the Bronze Portfolio Distinction from Photography Society of America and also has become the 2nd prize winner in the 2025 global Big Cats photography competition by showcasing his story-telling ability through lenses.
