People are judged and condemned because they do not live up to certain ideals. But what is normal? What is different? And when did we allow ourselves to give away the freedom to answer these questions ourselves? We have to recognize again the beauty and uniqueness that constitutes “being different”.

About Artist

Amina Stella Steiner

Amina Stella Steiner is an Austrian photographer and creative consultant living in Vienna, Austria. As a photographer, her focus lies on working with natural light, capturing personalities, and emotions, and telling stories that have the power to raise questions. Her work is often socially engaged, interacting with the psychological dimensions of the human experience. With her exhibition "GROWNthisway" juxtaposing images of non-normative people and vegetables and fruits outside of EU norms exhibited at Vienna Design Week in 2019, she took a first step into the off-line art world. Later followed her exhibitions "Flower Boys" a conceptual portraits series playing with aspects of femininity and masculinity and "My pronouns are 'try me'" a mini-reportage depicting the transformation process of a Lebanese drag queen. In 2021 she won the "LifeFramer" Colors Competition and was nominated for the BBA Photography Prize - One-Shot Award in 2022.
