Subtractive Architecture

In this place construction occurs through removal. Layers of stone are carved into a monumental grid, where negative space defines the structure. The quarry becomes an inverted form of architecture, one that reveals rather than builds, blurring the boundary between natural formation and human design

About Artist

Birgit Stahl

Hello! I am Birgit! I am an amateur photographer from Munich/Germany. I've been passionate about photography since I was a teenager. Shooting in automatic mode, I was always disappointed, that I couldn't capture what my eyes saw. When I got my third Australian Shepherd, I started shooting manually and posting my images on Instagram. My models are mainly my own dogs, but I also love portraits, landscape and street photography. I am addicted to colors, lights and love, the ingredients of an image that also gave the name to my website. In 2024 I was nominee at the Fine Art Photography Awards and was awarded Honorable Mentions at the International Photography Awards 2024 and the ND Awards 2024.
