Fusion of Steel and Shadow
It all started with the idea of capturing a plane crossing the moon. When I learned about the upcoming event—a lunar eclipse and blood moon in September 2025—I began preparing months in advance. That night, patience and timing rewarded me with this once-in-a-lifetime shot.

Himanshu Sukhwal
I am Database Admin by profession but by passion I am travel and wildlife photographer. My journey into photography didn’t begin with a lifelong plan or a childhood dream. It began in 2016, with a simple but life-changing moment—when my wife Deepti gifted me my first real camera. We were preparing for a trip to Leh, high in the cold desert of Ladakh, India. At the time, I didn’t fully realize how meaningful that gift would become. I thought it would just help us capture memories of the trip. But she saw something in me long before I saw it myself. Leh was the perfect place for the lens to find me. The vast landscapes, the raw silence of the mountains, the play of light across barren valleys, the crystal-clear skies, and the feeling of being so small in such a grand world—something shifted inside me there. What began as casual vacation photography turned into a spark, a fascination, a pull I couldn’t ignore. While most traveler's admired the monasteries, lakes, and mountains, I found myself drawn to the small things—the flutter of a bird wing, the rugged textures of the terrain, the quiet movement of wildlife blending into the land, the shapes the wind carved into the sand. I realized I wasn’t just taking photos; I was trying to capture stories written by nature. From that point on, wildlife and nature photography became more than just an interest. They became my identity. The camera that my wife placed in my hands didn’t just help me document a journey—it opened the door to a new part of my life. It awakened a passion I didn’t know existed, one that has grown stronger with every trip, every forest trail, and every moment spent waiting for nature to reveal itself. I try everyday and hoping that one day I will get my chance and convert my passion into my profession
