Q:
How did you get into the art world?
A:
I had a lot of friends that were artists so it just kind of organically evolved.
Q:
What is your favorite part of your job?
A:
Selecting the art and curating how and where it will be hung.
Q:
Who are three of your favorite photographers?
A:
That's really hard. That's like asking what my favorite song is, I have like ten but the three that come to mind are Mary Ellen Mark, Scavullo, and Helmut Newton....and Ralph Gibson and Neal Preston...too many.
Q:
What does the Leica Gallery look for when working with artists?
A:
Someone who is original and easy to work with.
Q:
What are you looking forward to gaining from the experience of being a judge at reFocus?
A:
I like to see what is out there and make sure I didn't miss anything.
Q:
Do you have any advice to give to photographers or artists out there?
A:
Find your passion and run with it...and keep shooting/painting.
Q:
If you could own the work of one artist, photographer or otherwise and regardless if it is in a museum or collection, what work or artist would it be?
A:
An original Maxfield Parrish painting.
Q:
Do you have any favorite photo books?
A:
Come to Leica Gallery LA, they are all here!
