About Artist
Eddy Verloes
Eddy Verloes is a multi-award-winning photographer from Belgium. He is a literary symbolic photographer, a visual storyteller. His atmospheric shots of interiors, (night) landscapes, and urban life hover beautifully between realism and surrealism. Taking a spontaneous approach to the craft, Verloes captures the unexpected moments of the everyday. His studies of literature and philosophy fueled an inquisitive search for the mystical and the poetic. He shoots with his soul, not with the camera. Please don't put him in a box. 2015-2022: exhibitions in different galeries or special locations in the USA, UK, Russia, Germany, Greece, Crete, Malta, Hungary, Spain, Italy, Serbia, Austria, France, The Netherlands and Belgium. 5 photo books published: "No time to Verloes" (2015), "Cuba libre" (2016), "Seasighs/Zeezuchten" (2020), "Losing Our Minds/Buiten zinnen" (2021), "Aardelingen/Earthlings" (2022) Most important awards in 2020-2022: - Finalist LensCulture Visual Storytelling Awards - Selected as one of the best contemporary photographers worldwide by the American site All-About-Photo - Winner Life Framer Photo Contest 2020 (Theme: Civilization) judged by Tate Modern's Curator of Intern.
