About Artist
Patrick Zélis
Born in 1983 in Brussels, I live in Belgium. Interested in drawing and painting during my childhood, I have been passionate about photography for ten years. I have found in this art a great way to express how I feel. I have exhibited in several cities in recent years: Brussels (Art Truc Troc 2016, 2020, 2022), Paris (Regards Croisés festival 2019 and 2021), New York (exhibition of FOCUS LA finalists summer 2019), Budapest (exhibition of BIFA 2019 winners) ,… One of my photos was chosen as the main visual for the “Trieste Photo Days” festival in 2019. I love street photography and graphic compositions. In my photographic work, I try to offer a new look at ordinary things by creating clean and graphic images. My photos mainly focus on the urban environment and testify to a constant aesthetic research. I am interested in the lines, shapes and colors that combine to create my subject. Added to the graphic geometry of the plans, the colors, often vivid, form an abstract frame with a pleasant perception for the eyes. My photographs are more abstract than architectural. One of the interests and pleasures of photography is this desire to order things within a given frame.
