Ana Priscila Rodriguez, born 1974 in Mexico City, resides in The Netherlands since 1998.
She graduated Cum Laude from the Academy of Fine Arts in Utrecht, The Netherlands in 2006, specializing in Mixed Media and Photography. She also has background studies in History and Graphic Design.
Her work explores images from the past, giving vintage material, through a mixture of digital techniques, a completely new life and energy, all this evoking nostalgic textures and processes. The purpose of her images is to create a relatable shore for the emotional and psychological human experience. Every image is a window to a story using photography as a medium to create visuals attached to a feeling or an emotion where the viewer fills in the blanks with their own visions. The complexity of the texture in her photographic work creates the illusion of an old oil painting in each of her works, giving a sense of dark melancholy, romance and drama with a tone of classic Baroque.
She has exhibited numerous times in The Netherlands, both as a solo artist and as part of a collective group of internationally known Latin-American artists in Europe. In 2022 she participated in a collaboration multimedia project in Tel Aviv, Israel and in a collective exhibition in Vermont, USA. She is a resident artist in the Kunst Vassen Gallery in The Netherlands, where her work is available around the year and she is being currently represented by Anita Neve Gallery in Almere, The Netherlands.
In 2022 she was awarded an Honorary Mention by Photo Place Gallery Awards in Vermont, USA. She is an awarded nominee in the 8th FAPA (Fine Art Photography Awards) in the professional category of photo manipulation , she obtained a “Commended” award by the Creative Siena Photo Awards in 2022 in the category of Series and she is a gold winner award in the European Photography Awards 2022 in the category of Fine Arts, photo manipulation and an Honorable Mention at the DA Awards, 2022 in the category of conceptual photography for the series “Creatures”
