About Artist
Charlotte E. Johnson
I’m a photographic artist and educator, living and working in Auckland as a professional photographer, videographer and microscopist. My art has gained a national audience within Aotearoa New Zealand as part of several exhibitions, books and magazines, as well as international publications. My work is held in the New Zealand Maritime Museum and the McGregor Museum, as well as private collections. FATHOM (2023) will be my debut printed solo exhibition and will take place at Lake House Arts Centre, Takapuna, Auckland, as part of the upcoming Auckland Festival of Photography program. I have taken part in the festival multiple times over the years, including a group exhibition, Disrupted, in 2022 and a digitally-displayed solo exhibition, Positive Disintegration, in 2021. I’ve won multiple awards, such as bronze and silver medals in NZIPP portrait open and in-camera categories, and achieved recognition in competitions, including being shortlisted in the Sony Alpha awards for two years in a row across portrait, landscape, and creative categories (scroll down for more achievements). I’ve been an Ambassador for Lensbaby creative lenses and I’m a PSNZ-certified judge. I offer tutoring and mentoring in a wide range of subjects - I love to share skills and knowledge. I believe that continuing our personal development is how we stay inspired. You can find out more about me, view my portfolio, and get in touch at my website www.cejphoto.com
