About Artist

Yseult D.

There is no such thing as chance, there are only rendez-vous", this sentence by Paul Eluard sums up Yseult D's career perfectly. Nothing seemed to predestine her to photographic art. Daughter of the Depelseneer couple, the precursors of the baby swimming method, the future artist worked for many years with her parents in this captivating and human field. In 2011, Yseult, who has always had a passion for photography and cinema, started evening classes in digital photography with Pierre Scheys, who mainly teaches her the technique. At the same time, she worked in Paris with her painter friend Marc Aghemio, who encouraged her to sharpen her artistic eye.A year later, with her diploma in hand, Yseult flew to Israel. A festive trip that will mark a decisive turning point in her professional life. Back in Belgium, a special meeting at her hairdresser's gave her the opportunity to make public the photographs taken during her stay. The Jewish community centre in Brussels gave her carte blanche to mount her first exhibition, which she entitled "Once upon a time in Jerusalem" under the name of Yseult D. The enthusiasm of the public decided her to devote herself exclusively to artistic photography.
