STEFANOS PAIKOS, born in 1985 in Larissa, Greece, is a photographer and architect who has a passion for captu- ring the stories and cultures of people around the world. During his studies in architecture in Wiesbaden, Germany, he discovered his love for photography and since then, has traveled to various countries including Myanmar, Vietnam, Ethiopia, Iran, Iraq, Georgia, Greece, Cuba, and Turkey to document the people and cultures he encounters.
His photographic work mainly focuses on intercultural themes and he is particularly sensitive to social and huma- nitarian issues that are often rooted in political conditions. Through his documentary work, he aims to capture stories and situations beyond the familiar life known in Germany, in order to generate attention for them and to create a deeper understanding and empathy for those affected. He believes that by portraying people, he can make their stories tangible and break down stereotypes of foreign cultures. He uses the camera as a tool to engage in social studies, whose results are shown in the form of images
and words. His goal is to bring attention to the issues that are often overlooked and to give a voice to marginalized communities.
