About Artist
Pamela Baker
Pamela, an award-winning photographer, lives in New England and has worked in the fields of art, design, and architecture all her life. She has been interested in photography since she was young and takes photos of her adventures wherever she travels to, near or far. She enjoys taking photos of architecture, abstracts, street scenes, nature, seascapes, and landscapes. While Pamela has a background in commercial photography, she now specializes in taking fine art, macro, abstract and traditional photography. She also creates digital art and abstract photography using different techniques and technologies. Studying art and the world of light are Pamela’s favorite things to do. Pamela Baker – Artist Statement: My intentions as a photographer make all the difference. My intentions affect where the camera is placed, what time of day or night or in other words how the light is. What kind of light, how much light and how I add or subtract that light. The color and warmth of the light versus the grays and dusk of the shadows. When cropping a photo, what is left in the photo but what is removed as well can be a very telling sign of the direction a photographer wishes to lead you to. I’m trying to express my thoughts, feelings and journey. Which journey that is, depends on my aspirations in that moment. It is important to enjoy the spontaneity and serendipitous nature of photography!
