About Artist
Barney Maple
Barney’s fine art photography practice explores human and place connection through visually striking in-camera imagery. Working across colour and black & white, he brings together architectural form, human presence and place to create compelling compositions that feel both spontaneous and intentional. Beginning with a 1959 film camera, still used alongside his digital practice, his work is grounded in analogue discipline while embracing contemporary image making. His photographs are driven by a focus on our connection to the world around us, place and time, interpersonal connections, the human and natural form, and broader societal relationships, inviting viewers deep into moments of reflection, connection and interpretation. Barney’s imagery is designed to provoke thought and spark conversation, balancing aesthetic precision with emotional depth. His work has been exhibited through solo shows, art fairs, and group exhibitions, and is held in private collections. Limited edition prints are released selectively, reinforcing the considered and enduring nature of his practice. Sustainability and ethical responsibility underpin Barney’s production process. His works are realised as archival giclée prints using museum grade, responsibly sourced papers, selected for both longevity and reduced environmental impact. Presentation is refined through Artglass framing, enhancing clarity while protecting the work over time. Each piece is accompanied by a hologram certificate of authenticity, ensuring provenance and reinforcing the high-end approach to his contemporary fine art practice.
