French-American, Nathalie Merle is a self-taught photographer with a background in chemistry, pharmacy and healthcare administration. Born and raised in Miami Beach, Florida and now based in Lyon, France - Nathalie has worked in both countries cumulating close to 20 years of healthcare experience.
Daughter of a chemical engineer and an artist painter, Nathalie has developed her own creative palette through a photography which she describes as methodical with soft, clean, poetic undertones.
Her photographic interests are wide-ranging, but essentially revolve around the human-animal experience and the One Health concept. She aims to capture what she refers to as the “healing hand” with an attempt to restore a momentary appreciation of our own humanity and ability to end or minimize suffering.
She tries to position her work as a lead-by-example by showing the good we are so capable of, which sometimes requires great skill and/or an inordinate amount of ressources to make things right.
