The araucaria or pehuén, is an endemic tree species belonging to the genus of conifers Araucaria of the Araucariaceae family, located in the extreme northwest of Argentine Patagonia, mainly in the central-northern mountain range of the province of Neuquén, and in the central-south from Chile.
