About Artist
Daniel Sly
Growing up in a coastal suburb of Sydney, Australia Daniel began photographing the world around him from an early age. Living in close proximity to national parks and the ocean Daniel’s work began to focus on the natural world and all its inhabitants. After years of living next to the ocean it wasn’t until 2018 that he discovered what lied beneath the surface after undertaking a SCUBA certification. From that moment he was hooked and couldn’t get enough of this new exciting world. Initially Daniel started his underwater photography journey with a simple GoPro in tow, but this quickly evolved into a DSLR setup. Daniel’s main focus is the waters that surround Sydney and the NSW coast. Due to the temperate climate, there are a large number of habitats that are home to a plethora of unique marine organisms. Daniel’s hope is that by sharing the photos he takes he can educate his local community about the biodiversity of the marine life that live in the surrounding oceans and river systems.
