About Artist
Alexander Ley
My name is Alex, and I’m a wildlife photographer. I’m the third generation in my family to follow this path; my grandfather built his own camera before World War II, my father carried on the passion, and I inherited it from him. I received my first Nikon film camera from my grandfather’s brother, and at the age of seven, I traveled to South Africa for the first time. That’s when everything began. Since then, I’ve spent over 25 years exploring more than 50 countries, photographing everything from spirit bears in Canada to western lowland gorillas in Central Africa. Photography became more than a hobby, it became a family passion. Traveling together has created memories that will stay with us forever. My father and I even use the same equipment, which often sparks a friendly competition between us. Today, my goal goes beyond personal passion. I want to raise awareness, inspire people to care about wildlife, and show the fragility of our planet’s animals. Every image tells a story, and through those stories, I hope to connect people to conservation. Much love, Alex
