Mervyn Dublin
Mervyn Dublin is a Professional Landscape and Travel Photographer based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. His talent and dedication have allowed him to create incredible and diversified images of everything from landscape, travel, architecture and portraiture. Some of his most outstanding works won the Bronze Award-2012 Creative Asia Photography Awards (Portrait) and were nominated for the 6th/7th/8th/9th/11th Annual B&W Spider Awards and 5th/7th Annual Photography Masters Cup. Mervyn was also the finalist for 2011/2012/2013 Sigma Annual Spring Photography Contest, KL Photo Awards 2013 and was chosen as the Top 20 for the ZEISS Inspiration 2018 contest under Landscape and Cityscape. His career highlight was when he bagged several titles conferred by IPA (an association under the Lucie Foundation) namely the 8 Honorable Mention IPA 2010,10 Honorable Mention IPA 2011, 4 Honorable Mention IPA 2012, 6 Honorable Mention IPA 2013, 1 Honorable Mention IPA 2014, 3 Honorable Mention IPA 2015 for Portrait, Editorial, Travel, Nature, Architecture categories. In 2016 he was awarded 3 Honorable Mentions in Nature and People Categories under Moscow International Foto Awards and The 2017 Silver Award for Landscape under The Professional Photographers Asia Community. In addition, the PRIX DE LA PHOTOGRAPHIE PARIS Silver Awards (Portrait) was also added under his belt. His works are featured in the National Geographic Stock Images, Photography Monthly UK, The Black & White Photography Book, The Photo Paper Journal, Potpourri Magazine, Best of Photography 2011/2012 & was also voted the Top 100 Online Photographer 2010 by ScanDigital.Today, an Executive Diploma in Photography graduate and an experienced photographer, Mervyn still perseveres the principle of Ansel Adam that ‘There are no rules for good photographs, there are only good photographs.’ As such, he constantly reimagines existing concepts to transcend the boundaries of what's norm and cliché as he believes that a photograph is a piece of art expressing emotion and esthetic. Hence not bound by rules to create and interpret.
