Maira Ray is a Brazilian-born Fine Art and Fashion photographer based in Paris. It was during the period she lived in Dublin that she started photography as a way to share her experience with family and friends. Maira traveled over 22 countries in Europe and Africa, using her phone to capture the landscapes and cityscapes of the places she visited. At the age of 26, she was presented with her first camera. One year after moving to Vancouver, Canada, the COVID-19 pandemic hit. To help endure the imposed lockdown, Maira started to study photography through online courses. In 2022 Maira moved to Paris to study photography at Spéos International Photography School. She decided to specialise in studio work, producing, directing and photographing shoots in collaboration with models, makeup artists and designers. With her distinctive and personal approach, she captures the unique beauty of her subjects. Drawing inspiration from the Renaissance and Impressionism, her fashion images are imbued with a painterly aesthetic, evoking the timeless elegance of fine art photography. Maria has won several awards, magazines publications and had her work exhibited in France and other countries.
