I like documenting the backstage life up to and after the concerts. I usually start before the band arrives and take photos of the crew setting up the concert. Then follow the band under the sound rehearsals and come as close as possible backstage up to the concert. I do a few photos during the concert, but everyone has seen so many pictures from the concerts. I always inform the crew and artists: "It is your pictures, not mine, and I will not publish any without your approval". This makes everyone relaxed, and the artists usually forget me very quickly. I have a reputation for being invisible and not interacting with the artists, being the proverbial "fly on the wall".
