About Artist
Susan Irene Correia
Susan Irene is an equine photographer from the US. Her work reflects an acquired knowledge of a horse’s movement, their expressions, and the joy in the human relationship with these beautiful animals. Her lifetime love, personal and professional experiences with horses created her devotion to capture the spirit of the horse within her photography. Susan Irene's photographic travels have taken her to Canada, Portugal, and France, as well as some of the best equine venues in the USA. Her body of work “Power of the Horse” was curated by Paula Tognarelli and presented as a 15-piece solo exhibit at the Griffin Museum in Boston in January - February 2022 and traveled on as a featured solo exhibit at several galleries in NE. Presently her fine art work is often presented at National level juried exhibits in MA, NH and Maine or available directly through her studio. She also shoots at US Dressage Federation events as the official photographer and does private shoots for horse owners. Susan Irene has received international, national, and locally judged awards and Honorable Mentions for her work. She achieved the People's Choice award for her dressage horse photograph "Halt for the Judge" in the reFocus International competition as well as a Bronze placing for "Intertwining of Color" photograph of two koi. Other awards include third place in an International Equine Photography Competition - “Horse and Human Relationship Division” and the American Horse Publications Annual Photojournalism Award for an editorial cover feature story on the Boston Police Mounted Horses. As an equine artist her work is being collected throughout the US and France.
