About Artist

Yusho Suga

Born on August 23, 1990. After completing his basic training at a Zen temple in Uji, Kyoto, he became the abbot of a Zen temple (Soto sect) in Onomichi, Hiroshima Prefecture in 2014. He is also a Zen monk photographer who expresses in his photographs what he feels and realizes in living in modern society as a Zen monk. His work is not limited to landscapes and portraits, but he finds the world of Zen in a variety of subjects and creates works that question the way of life. He was selected as an Honorable Mention in the Professional category at the InternationalPhotographyAwards2023 organized by the Lucy Foundation in the United States.
