About Artist

Susan Delgalvis

Susan Delgalvis, an Ohio native, received her BA in chemistry from Bryn Mawr College and MD from Thomas Jefferson University. Her art career began as a painter in 2006 Her preferred medium over last last several years has been black and white photography. She has exhibited in solo, group and, museum shows throughout the United States. She and her husband, Andre Delgalvis, a fine art photographer, author, and naturalist co-own Studio 2138 LLC, a working Photographic Studio and Gallery in Grand Junction, Colorado. Her black and white photography is about "seeing" and the search within spatial nothingness, capturing shifting light, shadows, objects and geographic forms. What emerges speaks to and transcends the moment. She explores the impact of man on the natural world which often results in abandonment and the resulting detritus from relentless erosion over time. She attempts to capture a world many thought never existed.
