Street Photography
I’ve always been a street photographer. The approach suits me, both when I’m ‘Un Flaneur’ (a wanderer) and for those slightly more structured situations where I’m letting something develop to see where we might go. All these photos come from this approach. Yes, it takes a lot of time but the results are usually worth it.

John Walmsley
I've been a freelance, documentary photographer since leaving art school in 1968 with work published in 1,000+ books worldwide. My work, in one form or another, is at the National Portrait Gallery, Tate Britain Library, the National Art Library at the V&A, the V&A Museum of Childhood, Liverpool Museum, la Bibliothèque nationale de France and the Library at the University of California, San Diego. In recent months, I've taken part in numerous joint exhibitions with other artists in Australia (the Head On Photo Festival), Arizona, Tbilisi, Sao Paolo, Edinburgh, Glasgow and London. In December 2022, I was given three awards at the B&W Spider Awards, Los Angeles.
