Walking home
A woman and a child walk through a narrow residential alley, framed by unfinished walls and work paths. The photograph observes how everyday movement quietly defines space, scale and belonging.
About Artist
Jose Cosme
I am a Portuguese civil engineer who has spent the past 37 years building bridges and roads in the Niger Delta, Nigeria. Photography is more than a hobby; it is a parallel self seeking greater presence in my life. Although relatively new to digital photography, I have over 30 years of experience in film, working in 35 mm and medium format, black-and-white and colour. I have used SLRs, twin-lens reflex, rangefinders, and pinhole cameras, and continue to develop and print my own work. Ultimately, I explore construction and imagery as two ways of shaping meaning.
