The dance of light
Two skyscrapers face to face in Milan's City Life district. Arata Isozaki's Allianz Tower, held upright by four buttresses, stands alone and imposing. Zaha Hadid's Generali Tower twists like an elegant dancer, while light gently slides along its sides, highlighting the stories of everyday life.
About Artist
Pietro Di Girolamo
Born in Palermo in 1977, I’ve spent my adolescence in the heart of Sicily, absorbed in the nature of Madonie Park. When I was young, I’ve got passionate to the study of technical and artistic drawing, following a phase of painting’s experience and a fruitful collaboration with the artist Croce Taravella. After completing my studies in engineering and architecture, I moved to Berlin, a creative city that awakened in me the interest in photography as a useful tool to represent reality and space. I initially began to get interested in the study of natural and artificial subjects by creating abstract compositions. In my most recent works I face issues concerning the cities’ historical and contemporary architecture. Photography represents also a document of my travels around the world. I am based in Milan, where I teach, I work as an architect and continue to develop my artistic research.
