Starry Night
About Artist
Joyce Bealer
Exploring the world draws me to basically anything beautiful, but like all photographers, it's all about the light that makes the difference. My history with photography started in my early years and was largely influenced by my father who always seemed to be carrying around a camera. In my family when we made our First Communion we were allowed to choose a gift and I chose wisely. Thus, at the age of eight I was so excited to finally have a camera. Back then I received film as gifts at holiday time so not very often, but my relationship with capturing "the moment" and love of the photo had begun. I was slow to progress to digital capture due to my love of the magic in the darkroom while processing and printing B&W and also loved the lush appearance of analog prints. Just like so much in life, all of that evolved. Two things occurred: improvement of technology, and especially due to my exposure to gifted and talented contemporary professional photographers. I have learned so much through workshops, photo tours, listening, reading, watching videos, observing those I admired using their own cameras, and spending countless hours looking at their work and aspiring to be better at my own. I continue my journey every day and with every photo.
