Shawn is a Virginia-based wildlife photographer who describes his approach as "street photography of birds", chasing moments, not species, with an emphasis on light and atmosphere over rarity. He got into bird photography because his daughter dragged him outside to look at them. She's ten, has more ribbons than he does, and will probably outshoot him by middle school. He's fine with that. It gives him more time to sit in marshes and talk to kingfishers.
