Sea Of Nets
In quiet rhythm, the fisherman’s wife repairs the tangled nets her husband brought home from sea. Each knot she ties is an act of devotion — weaving love, resilience, and the pulse of the ocean into the fabric of their shared life.
About Artist
Hayley Van De Moortele
I’m a Mauritian-based photographer drawn to the quiet poetry of everyday life — the stillness between tides, the rhythm of work-worn hands, and the light that turns the ordinary into something worth remembering. My photography is rooted in emotion and presence; it’s about pausing long enough to see what we often overlook. Through my lens, I try to capture not just what I see, but what I feel — the calm, the wonder, and the delicate balance between people and place. Although I haven’t sold much of my work, I’ve had the privilege of helping raise funds for local animal welfare clinics and shelters through photography auctions. Knowing that my images can support meaningful causes gives my work a deeper sense of purpose. My photography (World Through My Eyes) is my way of sharing those fleeting moments that stay with us — quiet reflections that invite others to see the world a little more gently.
