About Artist

Dragoljub Zamurovic

Dragoljub Zamurovic is a Serbian photographer with more than forty years of professional experience in photojournalism and artistic photography. Over the course of his career he has photographed people, cities and cultures across the world, developing a distinctive visual language that combines documentary storytelling with a strong sense of geometry, composition and color. His photographs have been widely published in major international magazines. Zamurovic produced more than ten photo essays and two cover photographs for National Geographic Magazine. His work also appeared in LIFE magazine, including a cover and several images featured in the celebrated “Big Pictures” section. For many years his photographs were distributed worldwide through the renowned Gamma photo agency under the credit line “Art Zamur / Gamma”. Alongside his editorial work, Zamurovic has developed a number of long-term personal projects exploring the visual structure of cities and urban environments. One of these projects, “Roof Art – Urban Geometry from Above,” investigates how rooftops, architectural elements and urban infrastructure transform into abstract compositions when seen from the air. Using drone photography, everyday city landscapes become fields of color, rhythm and geometric pattern. In recent years his work has increasingly moved toward the territory between documentary photography and fine art. By observing architecture from unusual perspectives, Zamurovic reveals hidden visual structures that are normally invisible from the street. He is also the author of several photographic books, including the autobiographical photo-monograph series Sećam se (“I Remember”), in which he combines photographs with personal stories about the circumstances in which the images were created. Today Zamurovic continues to photograph and exhibit internationally while developing new visual explorations of urban space, aerial perspectives and abstract architectural forms.
