Poppy flower quintet
This personal study on poppy flowers explores the subtle variations of asymmetrical forms and interplay of lights of my favorite still life subject. I multiplied them through a digital process by delicate changes for evoking despite unicity they participate all in the same symphony, as a quintet.
About Artist
Olivier Koestel
Growing up in the Food universe for many years until becoming an authentic "Foodie", Olivier started to shoot culinary conceptual & Still Life photography more intensively 6 years ago although he touched his first personal camera in 2014. The photography is now a whole aspect of his life not only with a way of expression itself but also because it's an Art-therapy, so a daily necessary thing. He used to represent different subjects often with a near-minimalistic and modern context that surround it and he also loves evoking asymmetric forms like Food's richness can produce. This is born with his encounter with Zen philosophy (more widely the buddhism in general) specifically with the posture encompassed by Wabi-Sabi notion. His acquaintance for macrophotography is equally insatiable and is an unaltered playground for exploring textures, sometimes raw, sometimes equivocal, fascinating for sure!
