Cambodia — January 2026. People of the Water — Along the Tonle Sap, where seasonal floods reshape both land and livelihood, communities adapt with remarkable resilience. This series was photographed on behalf of @hagarintl, an NGO dedicated to rescuing and supporting survivors of human trafficking.
About Artist
Paul Cox
Born and raised in Zimbabwe before moving to the UK and now based in Taiwan, Paul Cox has been working as a full-time documentary photographer since 2013. His work explores culture, identity and the resilience of communities, with a particular focus on long-term projects undertaken in partnership with NGOs. Best known for his work in Mongolia, he has exhibited internationally on twelve occasions and is the author of Red Hero, a photographic book documenting the people of Ulaanbaatar. He is currently photographing a new documentary project in Cambodia, once again NGO related.
