Painter Without Hands
In Old Tbilisi, I met a smiling painter who called himself ‘the painter without hands.’ Surrounded by his art, he sat alone yet radiant—a quiet testament to dignity, creation, and the endurance of the human spirit
About Artist
Giorgi Gobronidze
I’m a 38-year-old academic who picked up a camera just recently. What began as a spontaneous experiment quickly became something more personal — a new language for observing, remembering, and expressing what I’ve always tried to study and understand: people, patterns, and the passage of time. I come from a world of books, lectures, and analysis, with a love for science fiction and fantasy, but I now find myself drawn to documenting the real — especially the quiet, unspectacular moments that make cities human. Photography, for me, is not just about capturing what I see — it's about recording memory, emotion, and presence. This project is my first step, not just into photography, but into seeing differently.
