Mongolia at the Seam of Eras
Mongolia at the seam of eras: a territory where animals, mysticism, and youth flow with the pull of the modern.
About Artist
Federico Mejia
Colombian anthropologist, political scientist, and photographer, I’ve used photography as an ethnographic method for a decade. My work explores how spirituality, religion, and modernity reshape traditions and socio-economic landscapes. Studies in photojournalism and film—alongside somatics and contemporary dance—inform my practice. Exhibitions include Cara B at Taller Rubens (2025), “No es paisaje” at the VI Circuito Fotográfico, FUBA Medellín (2024), The Art Pop-Up (2024), and “Presencia Ausente” at Bogotá Art Week (2021). Recognition includes AP-40 American Photography winner (2024), Life Framer “Street Life” winner (2023), and Editor’s Pick in The Independent Photographer—Portraits (2024). I am a member of Colectivo BARDO and author of Art for Rebuilding: Multiple Possible Reconciliations (2020).
