Iron Men
In the shipyards of Dhaka, workers battle rust, steel, and time. Through sparks, dust, and relentless labor, these images honor the strength, endurance, and dignity of those whose hands keep ships alive.
About Artist
André Roberge
My work focuses on people and the contexts that define their everyday lives. Through travel photography and portrait work, I document rituals, traditions, celebrations, occupations, and the small details that reveal how people inhabit their surroundings. The camera has become a way to approach people, a reason to engage, and often a way to turn curiosity into real encounters. I am drawn to how gestures, expressions, and atmosphere give form to each moment, revealing what it holds. I approach people with honesty and respect, aiming to preserve their dignity and individuality through a natural connection. I am interested in lived experience as I find it, one place and one person at a time, where pride, tenderness, resilience, belonging, memory, and the desire to be seen fairly remain constant across differences.
