I grew up in a grey, rough part of East Germany — the kind of place where dreams feel far away and most people stay exactly where they were born. I wasn’t the guy with opportunities. My path was messy, full of setbacks, bad decisions, and a breakup that hit me harder than anything else in my life. But that breakdown became my turning point. In February 2023, I flew to Koh Tao — just for a short escape. Instead, I fell in love underwater. With the silence, the depth, the freedom. With the way the ocean stripped all the weight off my shoulders the moment I sank below the surface. A simple dive course turned into a new identity. I became a Divemaster, later a PADI & SSI Instructor, and suddenly I had something I never had before: direction. Photography came afterward — first as a way to remember moments, then as a way to express emotions. Underwater it became my therapy, my focus, and my way out of everything that once held me down. Through the lens I could finally show the raw power and calm of the ocean. Today I create photos and videos above and below the surface while working as a diving instructor. I’m still searching for my place in the world, trying to find myself through my photography and build a future with it.
