Confetti Leaves
Walking on the side of the canals in Amsterdam, the water was still like glass and saw the reflection of the buildings and the autumn leaves scattered across the water. It was like a painting on water. You have to take a moment to look at the images to figure out that it is a reflection.
About Artist
Vanessa Grayson
My work explores street portraiture, architecture, landscape, and creative portrait photography that moves beyond conventional expectations. I photograph slowly and intentionally, focusing on observation, light, and human presence within a space. Much of my work involves engaging with people encountered in public environments, looking for personality and expression that can be seen through their eyes. Some images emerge from spontaneous encounters while others develop through simple staging that allows atmosphere and character to unfold naturally. Landscape and architecture work allows me to explore the quieter relationship between light, structure, and environment. Light and shadow play a central role across all of my work, often shaping the emotional tone of the photograph and the relationship between subject and place.
