Using this metaphorical approach, I reflect on how collective memory is constantly being transformed, how historical experiences can quickly fade from public consciousness, and how isolated groups can develop their own versions of reality.

LIGA SAKSE
Liga Sakse is a Riga–born Latvian artist and researcher, who works as a graphic designer, photographer and educator. She earned a master’s degree from the Department of Visual Communication at the Art Academy of Latvia. In 2004, she became a member of the Artists’ Union of Latvia. Today, Liga Sakse combines her interests in cultural theory and photography in both her art and writing–research practice
