Anish Kapoor's New York Liquid Rhapsody
About Artist
Joachim Lombard
Joachim Lombard has been photographing the streets of Paris and New York, his 2 home cities, for 30 years. His curiosity for photography began while studying film at NYU in the mid 90s, where he taught himself shooting and darkroom techniques. He was especially intrigued by the Chiaroscuro technique. Joachim uses analogical equipment only: a Pentax K1000, a 55mm lens and 36 exposures Tri-X films. He loves constraint. Each click of the button is a result of thought and consideration of both the subject and the outcome. It's the interior conversation he finds fun and interesting. His work is centered around 4 themes: doors, reflections, details of people, and everyday life objects. He focuses on specific subject matters over long periods of time. He often asks himself: “How can I deepen and renew the way I photograph the same subject?” Anything can become remarkable with the proper amount of attention and patience. Joachim's work has been exhibited in Italy, France, Belgium, the United Arab Emirates, and in New York, Florida & California.
