Angel Unleashed
Angel Unleashed captures a Navy Blue Angel Super Hornet powering up as the crew chief conducts the pre-flight smoke check. The moment marks the shift from stillness to raw force—an aircraft and its team synchronized in precision, readiness, and unmistakable energy.
About Artist
Leslie Robins
Photography, for me, is more than a creative pursuit—it’s a way of being present in the world, a practice that grounds me and opens my eyes to the beauty and complexity that surrounds us. From the moment I first picked up a camera, I was captivated by the idea that a single image could hold a story, a feeling, or a fleeting moment of connection. Over the years, this fascination has only deepened, shaping not just my art but the way I move through life. What draws me most to photography is its power to capture the untamed spirit of the world—the wildness of remote landscapes, the soulful presence of animals, the quiet drama of light and weather. I’m especially drawn to places that challenge me, both physically and emotionally. Sometimes that means braving the icy silence of Antarctica, where the wind stings and the light shifts in ways that defy description. Other times, it’s standing quietly among a herd of horses at golden hour, feeling the trust in their gaze and the subtle language of their movement. These experiences take me out of my comfort zone, but they also bring me immense joy and a sense of belonging. There’s something profoundly nourishing about being in these spaces—about slowing down, paying attention, and letting the world reveal itself on its own terms. My work is shaped by a commitment to authenticity and respect for my subjects. Whether I’m photographing a windswept Scottish moor, a resilient wild animal, or the gentle strength of a horse, I strive to create images that are both technically refined and emotionally resonant. I want my photographs to do more than decorate a wall; I want them to spark a sense of connection—to invite viewers to pause, to feel, and to remember that there is beauty and meaning in even the most fleeting moments. It has been incredibly uplifting and affirming to have my work recognized with awards. Each time my photography is honored, it feels like a validation of the risks I’ve taken, the long hours in wild places, and the deep care I bring to every image. These moments of recognition remind me that the stories I’m drawn to tell—about resilience, wonder, and connection—resonate with others, too. They encourage me to keep exploring, keep learning, and keep sharing what I find. Photography has also been a way for me to build community and make new friends. Every journey, every shoot, is an opportunity to meet people who share my love of art, nature, and storytelling. I’ve learned so much from fellow artists, collectors, and the people I meet along the way—each conversation adding another layer to my understanding of what it means to see and be seen. These relationships are as much a part of my creative process as the images themselves. At its heart, my art is about wonder and curiosity. I’m driven by a desire to explore, to ask questions, and to find the extraordinary in the everyday. I believe that art should make us feel more alive, more connected—to ourselves, to each other, and to the world we inhabit. Through my lens, I hope to offer a window into the stories that exist all around us, waiting to be noticed and cherished. Ultimately, photography is my way of making sense of the world and my place in it. It’s a practice that calms and inspires me, that challenges me to grow, and that continually reminds me of the power of beauty, resilience, and connection. I’m grateful for every opportunity to share this journey—with those who collect my work, with fellow artists, and with anyone who finds a piece of their own story reflected in my images.
