About Artist

Paul Weston

Paul is a retired clinical visual electrophysiologist and keen, perhaps obsessive photographer of both the natural and constructed worlds. His photo of Remarkable Rocks was awarded a runner’s up prize in a Weekend Australian Magazine Travel Photo competition in 2006. Some of his photos have been published in travel books, used as CD covers and displayed on Web Sites and in public spaces. In 2017 he self-published Adelaide: Light and Stone, a book of his photos of the beautiful city. A photo of a Grey Fantail swooping after flying bugs was shortlisted for the 2022 Australian Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year. He sells images in various formats online through redbubble and many more can be seen on Flickr and Instagram where he publishes under the moniker “ozipital” and “wazipital”. He says, “I am not sure I have a photographic style… I try to treat each subject on its own merits." The photographs in his 2024 SALA (South Australian Living Artists) exhibition were a selection of Australian nature and landscape images from many years of “scavenging for those special moments when light, form and action connected with me.”
