Q:
Can you please tell us more about creating your winning image, “Alone in Silence”?
A:
I created Alone in Silence when I felt alone and lonely, while there were many people around me, but I still felt lonely and alone. The crows are a symbol of the people around me.
Q:
What is the source of the imagery you used to create and edit your winning image in Photoshop?
A:
I get image sources from stock photo sites like Unsplash, Pixabay, Pexels, Deviantart, and others. I combine several images into one artwork using Photoshop.
Q:
Why do you like using Photoshop?
A:
Initially, I used Photoshop because I was not a skilled photographer; I used it to edit photos of my children and family. From there, I started to like using Photoshop. The more techniques I learned in Photoshop, the more I wanted to apply them to a photo. I learned Photoshop autodidactically, learning from tutorial books, from YouTube, and others.
Q:
In your bio you mention you’re also a designer. How does that feed into your artistic practice?
A:
Working as a freelance designer is a challenge because I have to try to understand what clients want and translate that into a piece of work that suits their wishes. From there, I learned many techniques that are required of me to fulfill the clients' wishes.
Q:
Who are some of the photographers you admire?
A:
For photography I really like the photo ideas of Jordi Koalitic, for digital art I like the work of Eric Johannson and Ted Chin.
Q:
What would be a dream project for you?
A:
My dream project might be to do artwork for world famous brands so that many people can see and enjoy my artwork.
