We only know what we know. Raising children.

Gentle, intimate, truthful expressions of who they are, and a deeper glimpse into our own selves to feel our oneness with our creation. We live life by each moment, growing into whatever comes our way, and then learning to let go of what was never us to begin with. This is the beauty of life.

About Artist

Erika Fish

Erika Fish is a Tasmanian born human rights and art photographer. All of her work is shot on film and printed in her home studio darkroom. She is documenting our Australian society, with a special interest in how we are raising our children and the impact this has on governing, our democratic right and our sense of being responsible for who we are. She hopes an Australian Bill of Human Rights will help people remember who they are as human beings. Laws are written for us but there is nowhere in our constitution which say what we are all about in our wholeness. There is no reference point which acknowledges our inner power or soul and the importance of this if we are to live sane, healthy and happy lives. We are not necessarily responsible for what befalls us but we are certainly responsible for our response to our moment to moment life situations. And it is only when we are fully alive and present can we not only be there for ourselves but for each other. For humanity. Our children give us the opportunity to look deep into our own self. And sometimes this is not easy. We must forgive what we did not know and be prepared to grow beyond our limitations in a way which offers us the loving connections we always long for but have not necessarily created. We become the wise elders and keepers of knowledge and stories to share.
