ABOUT ME: I shoot people…mostly. I was born in Nice, France of French/Italian/British lineage and raised in New York and Los Angeles. After working as a creative director in a small advertising agency I decided to quit my job and immerse myself in learning photography. With a borrowed NIKON 35mm film camera and some guidance from reading the TIME/LIFE books on photography, I started shooting. To my delight, I got hired as the manager of a large commercial photo studio with four different photographers sharing the space. I watched them shoot during the day and was thrilled to have the studio, darkroom, and all the equipment available to me after-hours. I had access to models through my work in advertising and soon had a good selection of models to photograph. “I shoot people! (mostly).” I’d say when asked what kind of photos I took. Soon I started getting assignments. Three years into my photography career, I travelled to Japan. In Tokyo, I formed Amnesia Studio, a 'concept-to-completion' agency with Japanese graphic designer, Taki Ono. After five years working in Japan, I returned to the US and continued as a freelance commercial photographer working for major clients in advertising, magazine editorials, fashion catalogues, album covers, celebrity portraits and movie 'one sheet' posters My work has won numerous prestigious awards and I was also honoured with Distinctions Awards by the Royal Photographic Society, UK. I've been featured in LENS magazine, L'ŒIL de la Photographie (Paris), American Photography, Dodho Photography magazine and Royal Photographic Society Journal (cover). In 2005 I left New York and relocated to New Zealand where I currently live. I shifted away from commercial photography and work primarily in FineArts. I've had multiple solo and group gallery exhibitions in New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Paris and New Zealand. My work has been acquired by interior designers for hotel guest rooms as well as purchased by collectors in private homes.
