About Artist
Marina Valitova
Marina Valitova is a visual Artist and Self-taught underwater photographer from Russia based currently in Dahab, Egypt. She uses freediving as both a means of exploration and an artistic medium. By entering the underwater environment on a single breath, she experiences landscapes that challenge usual perception of space, gravity, scale and movement. Curiosity has always guided her way of seeing the world. She was always fascinated by the idea of exploring places beyond human reach and discovering worlds that nobody had ever seen. And spent hours watching Jacques Cousteau's documentaries, captivated by the mysteries hidden beneath the surface of our own planet.
