Sustenance 4

There is life in the desert. More than most people realise. In the Namib this is thanks to the wonderful miracle of fog – the clouds that roll in from the Atlantic Ocean bring with them moisture that sustain the fauna and flora living in this beautiful, harsh landscape.

About Artist

Nadia De Lange

I was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, and from an early age the African bush was my place of solace. My affinity for numbers, however, led to a career in the reinsurance industry as an actuary, or as I like to call it: an inaccurate fortune teller. Despite the trappings of an office job, or perhaps because of it, my passion for nature, wildlife and art remains at my core. I received my first DSLR in 2012, and this gift unlocked a way for me to combine art and nature in my life. So when I can escape the office for a while, I ensure that I visit the remote places of Earth where I can capture the landscapes and wildlife while they’re still wild.
