As an amateur photographer, the richness of landscapes and wildlife found between the Pacific and the Rocky Mountains provides me with endless inspiration and chances to learn and grow.
There are temperate rainforests, seascapes, an inland mix of rolling fertile fields, basalt coulees and scablands, arid high desert, granite buttes, mountain ranges, and glacial lakes. The big blue skies are amazing as are the fast-moving storms that retrace the glacial paths inland from the ocean. The diverse assortment of wildlife across these environments is terrific. Finally, when you add in architecture and abandoned objects and places, I have a wide range of storytelling opportunities to enjoy and portray.
