Dimitris Sideridis was born in Istanbul and raised in Athens.
He is a producer, filmmaker, photographer, and visual artist.
He is the founder of Imagefields Lab, a film production company based in Athens.
Imagefields Lab specializes in the production of documentaries and fiction films, the creation of mixed-media art projects, and the organization of educational workshops.
Its vision is to develop works that captivate, provoke thought, and transform the audience’s experience.
As a filmmaker, he is the creator and producer of the feature-length documentary Brothers in Wrestling, which was selected to participate in MEDIMED | The Euro-Mediterranean Documentary Market in Barcelona.
The film is currently in post-production.
As a visual artist, a significant part of his work focuses on exploring memory as a process of identity formation — both personal and collective. He approaches the media he uses (photography, video, mixed media, installation, painting, drawing, poetry) not only as documentary tools, but also as means of interpretation, reimagination, and transformation of lived experience. He is particularly interested in how the image activates mechanisms of recall and loss, while functioning simultaneously as a narrative tool and a medium for re-signifying identity over time.
In parallel, another strand of his work revolves around an open-ended exploration of selfhood and the existential questions that arise in relation to human existence, the environment, and the structures that shape them.
His artistic practice often engages with philosophical, political, and anthropological issues. These works operate as spaces of observation, critical reflection, and inquiry, capturing the fragility, contradictions, and transformations of the human condition.
He is a collaborator of CNN and Al Jazeera Media Network, two of the world’s leading news organizations.
His work has been honored with international awards and distinctions,
and has been exhibited both in Greece and internationally.
He has also self-published the photo book Rafael Trejo – Dukes on the Ropes, which received the Gold Award at PX3 – Prix de la Photographie Paris (2020) and the Silver Award at the Moscow International Foto Awards (2021).
He holds a Master’s degree in “Photography in Arts and Visual Language”
from Middlesex University, London.
