Jono is an Australian underwater photographer, filmmaker, and freediving instructor dedicated to capturing powerful images that drive ocean conservation.
Jono has extensive experience photographing marine megafauna across the world - including in Tonga, Mexico, Maldives, Indonesia, Fiji and the vibrant reefs of his ocean home in Australia. His work is fuelled by a profound respect for the natural world, as he seeks to capture its beauty in a way that inspires meaningful action and deeper connection.
A pivotal moment in Jono’s journey came when he helped rescue an entangled whale shark in the Maldives, leading him to dive deeper into exploring photography as a means of advocating for the species that he loves most. Jono strives to capture every animal as an individual, recognising its distinct personality. Through his photography, he conveys the unique character of each creature through intimate portraits.
