About Artist
Jessica Eckermann
Based in Adelaide, South Australia, Jessica Eckermann is an award winning photographic artist and currently works both as an educator and as a photographer running her own photographic business. Within her artistic work in photography, Jessica specialises in vintage inspired portraiture, emulating vintage eras and styles within her work. She experiments with a broad range of subjects and techniques, developing her conceptual work for exhibition and entering awards. Jessica was a regular entrant in the Australian Professional Photography Awards, earning her accreditation and Associate level membership with the Australian Institute of Professional Photography. Some notable achievements included winning the Epson Signature Worthy Award, being awarded the Highest Scoring Print and being a finalist for the SA Illustrative Photographer of the Year in the South Australian Professional Photography Awards, 2018. In 2015 she was also a finalist for the South Australian Contemporary Photographic Art Award. Jessica has exhibited work regularly in both group and solo exhibitions in venues such as The Light Gallery, The Mill and The National Wine Centre. In recent years, Jessica has had the honour of being invited to judge the photography entries at the Royal Adelaide Show. Jessica trained at the Centre for Creative Photography where she completed her Diploma in Photoimaging and went on to work as a lecturer. She is also a secondary school teacher and has taught photography, digital art and multimedia since 2008. She continues to pursue new ideas and techniques in digital, film and alternative photographic mediums.
